When “Healthy” Turns Into Superiority
The trend popping off right now?
Shaming moms for using GLP-1s… comparing it to something as extreme as heroin, then ending it with “be the kind of mom that…”
Let’s pause.
That level of commentary doesn’t scream education - it screams privilege. Loud, uneducated privilege.
And it’s almost always coming from accounts labeled “coach,” “keto,” or “nutritionalist.”
Not to help. Not to understand.
But to separate. To elevate themselves above others.
This is the problem.
We don’t need more people trying to prove a point - we need fewer people so eager to jump on “harmless” trends just to gain traction.
We need people willing to meet in the middle, to understand lives that don’t look like theirs.
WE NEED PEOPLE IN THE BUSINESS OF “HELPING OTHERS BETTER THEMSELVES” TO ACTUALLY BE EDUCATED IN THEIR FIELD.
Because not everyone has the same body. Any decent coach or nutritionist knows that - the ones who genuinely want to help would never be so dismissive of real issues.
That’s the telltale sign - when everything revolves around them and what worked for their one body. No depth. No education. No understanding of anyone else. That’s not coaching… that’s a cash grab. A quick course. A quick plan. A quick sale. “Don’t be the Ozempic mom - buy my $250 plan and fix it in 30 days.”
And they call GLP-1 a quick fix…coming from “gurus” who’ve never struggled with their weight a day in their life. Never had to lose it - but ready to sell you a course on what came naturally to them.
This isn’t just silly… it’s damaging. It’s shaming. And it pushes a false narrative that creates division.
This is science. It’s technology helping real genetic and metabolic issues - and let’s be clear, it’s not even “new.” Forms of GLP-1s have been prescribed and used for over 20 years.
This is something that should be celebrated.
We are living in a time where there is actual hope and help for a very real disease: OBESITY.
Could you imagine if I pushed this same narrative about anything else?
You wouldn’t tolerate it.
Like telling people with infertility to “just have babies naturally”…
or telling someone with type 1 diabetes to stop taking insulin in front of their kids and “set a better example.”
It’s not funny at all, but the way I just laughed out loud! LOL, LOL
It would sound ridiculous - because it is.
But somehow when it comes to this… GLP-1’s -people feel bold enough to be loud, dismissive, and completely uninformed.
Say what you want - but at least say it from a place of understanding, not ignorance.
And dragging motherhood into it? why?
That’s where I’m out. Now I feel like i’m on a mission.
You don’t get to weaponize being a “good mom” to tear other women down.
That bridge?
I’m burning it down. This is toxic and shallow. It’s giving plain ignorance. Holier- than-thou mindset. STRAIGHT MEAN GIRL.
Your superiority complex is showing.
And just because your body is working “as it should” right now - that’s privilege.
Wait until perimenopause hits, momma.
So when life gets busy, stress hits, and you gain 10 or 15 pounds in your 40s - are you a bad mom then?
Or are you not ready for that conversation yet?
Call me when life gets a little messy…
When your “perfect” trend that gained a few followers turns into real life.
I did the 1200 calories.
I drank the matcha.
I ran the miles.
It wasn’t enough like you claim it should be. I’d be asking for a refund, Ms. Keto-Nutritionist-Coach.
I’d be happy to show you what actually did work 🔥
Being the kind of mom who “shoots” up in front of her kids… and does all the other things too. {{{Click here if your curious use code: Mandy to save $150}}
What works: doing our part to the absolute best of our ability - and then bridging the gap in the areas where we can’t fix.
Having a body that works exactly as it should is a privilege - and ignorance is bliss.
Signing off,
“One of those moms”
